'Battle not with monsters, Lest you become a monster;

And if you gaze into The Abyss, The Abyss gazes into you’

(Nietzsche-Beyond Good and Evil)

'…I've taken this extravagant journey,

so it seems to me, I just came from Nowhere,

And I’m going straight back there.

You know me I’m acting dumb-dumb,

You know the scene is very humdrum,

Boredom,Boredom…b’dum b’dum.

So I’m living in this movie, but it really doesn’t move me,

So tell me who are you trying to arouse?

Get your hand out of my trousers!…’

(Howard Devoto-It Only Looks As If It Hurts)

Magaret Boyce

Autobiographical artist, using an unspoken narrative to address difficult subjects such as Rape, Domestic Violence and Suicide. Whilst challenging the stigma's and misconceptions of Mental Health. Where stitching across the fragility of paper reminds us everyday of the fragility of life itself.

The focus of my work migrated to film because the opportunity arose firstly, to collaborate with a dancer and secondly learn the techniques of filmmaking, both of which I have been absorbed with over the last two years. Subsequently the chance of working with motion capture meant the ideas I previously developed in the studio could be reinterpreted and given new form. In my current film the images are sometimes distorted and often indistinct, illustrating aspects of my vision.

In the last 3 years the work has evolved into a business idea thus Nicholas has created the brand +art to give his work more focus and professionalism.

Sophia Ferdani

My practice mainly takes the form of installations that frame natural forces and elements, allowing them to interact with each other and animate the work. Their participatory aspect incites the viewer to engage with them, by entering into a dialogue with the various phenomena, and experiencing them in an unmediated way. Through my work I explore issues that relate to our perception, understanding and interaction with our surrounding physical world.
